A 60-day cruise through the Australian Coast is being halted following the death of an older lady who was left behind by the cruise liner on a remote coastal location.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the tropical location with other travelers from the cruise ship, but broke off from the party for a pause. The vessel departed without her and came back several hours later after the personnel discovered the woman was missing.

An extensive rescue mission discovered her body the next day.

Investigative bodies are investigating the event, alongside police and the medical examiner.

Chief Executive of the voyage organizer stated that travelers and staff on the Coral Adventurer were informed that the remainder of the cruise had been called off due to the "sad loss and previous engine troubles".

In a statement, he further stated that passengers would be given a total repayment, and said the operator was working "to arrange the homeward trips of the travelers via specially arranged planes".
